About this work
A flowering cactus: lush, almost silken blossoms open among the thorns. Needle and petal, protection and tenderness, share the same sheet.
Fine ink drawing and watercolour washes reveal the plant's character — guarded on the outside, flowering within. Ink and watercolour on A2 paper (420×594 mm), 2023. Signed original.
Part of the series “What Flowers Say”
Three botanical sheets in ink and watercolour (2023): chrysanthemum, protea and cactus. Precise line and free colour, needle and petal — a conversation about what flowers tell us about ourselves.
