About this work
At the centre of the painting is planet Earth, curled up in a nest of threads of light — a symbol of our shared home, vulnerable and infinitely dear.
The work grew out of a moment of rethinking the very idea of “home”. After leaving Russia and being unable to stay in Estonia, the artist had an important decision to make: where the family would live now, where the child would grow up, where a new chapter would begin. In that stream of uncertainty and anxiety, one thing was clear: Earth is our constant, unchanging home, regardless of country, borders or language.
Home is not only walls. It is feelings, people, atmosphere. It is a planet to be protected like a fragile egg in a nest built with care. It is what unites us all into one large family.

Eight works painted over the years of emigration — from Russia to Estonia, and then to Portugal (2022–2026). Recurring images of birds, nests and a cocoon, warm light on deep blue, and fine unbroken threads. The shared thought: home is not walls or borders, but what you carry inside.
