Against a glowing night sky sits a scarlet-breasted robin, surrounded by thistles and bees. The composition is built around the theme of the word as a force able to change our emotional state and our relationships with others.
The painting is about the dual nature of speech. A word can support, inspire and heal, but it can also cause pain and break trust. The artist draws attention to the way even ordinary phrases leave an emotional mark — especially with family, children, colleagues and in everyday messages.
The bees and thistles reinforce this idea: a word can be like nectar or like a sting. The work invites us to be more attentive to what we say and to remember the effect words have on other people.

Eight works painted over the years of emigration — from Russia to Estonia, and then to Portugal (2022–2026). Recurring images of birds, nests and a cocoon, warm light on deep blue, and fine unbroken threads. The shared thought: home is not walls or borders, but what you carry inside.
